Seeking to
re-invent my life, Part II.
Would like
to settle into something stable until retirement, tired of bouncing around
(not always by choice). I have 17 years experience as a graphic designer
in the printing and publishing industry, plus 4 years in marketing support
for a multinational electronics firm as Senior Graphic Designer/Assistant
to the Marketing Services Director. In 2006, I started a web-based business
with sites selling custom flash drives, other USB peripherals and variety
giftware. Barely profitable after a year and with my savings exhausted,
had to give it up. Now attending night classes to obtain a technician
certificate in Geographic Information Systems software (ArcView). Looking
for the right full time position, also available for freelance or contract
work.
Ideal: a casual
but busy atmosphere, short commute (I live in North Park) or telecommute.
I can work on Mac or PC platform. I excel at producing printed media and
I am a Photoshop pro. I have been using InDesign for the past year and
I'm very comfortable with it. I can write and edit copy, have excellent
communication skills, am conscientious, detail-oriented and a quick study.
Expertise in QuarkXpress, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat; MS Office applications.
I can design and prep graphics for web. Digital samples available on request.
You can view my somewhat dated portfolio here at bmcgrafix.com,
including my cover designs from my work for Marcoa Publishing.
